Shoolini Institute of Life Sciences & Business Management (SILB), Solan, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Himalayan Forest Research Institute (HFRI), Shimla under the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE). This collaboration underscores a mutual dedication to environmental conservation, biotechnology, and health and wellness, aiming to create a sustainable and prosperous future for the region.
The MoU was signed by HFRI Director in-charge, Dr Sandeep Sharma and Dr Shalini Sharma, Director of SILB. Others present at the ceremony included Dr Ashwani Tapwal, Scientist, Dr Bal Krishan Tiwari, Scientist from HFRI, and Dr Shalini Sharma, Director of SILB. The event also saw the presence of special invitees Professor P. K. Khosla, Prof Sunil Puri, from Shoolini University and Mrs. Saroj Khosla, Chairperson SILB, and Heads of Departments from various disciplines at SILB.
The MoU establishes a robust framework for collaboration between HFRI and SILB, focusing on the following key areas:
Joint research projects, the exchange of scientific knowledge, and collaborative research initiatives to address critical environmental and scientific challenges. Development of innovative solutions for environmental and climate challenges, pioneering sustainable practices and technologies to mitigate the impact of climate change.
Skill Development Programmes are also included in the MoU, comprehensive training programmes to prepare a highly skilled workforce for the industries in the region. Promotion of Biotechnology and Life Sciences Industries, enhancing the growth of biotechnology and life sciences sectors through academic and practical advancements.
By combining their expertise, HFRI and SILB are committed to overcoming procedural and bureaucratic hurdles to achieve their shared goals efficiently. This partnership promises to make significant contributions to societal progress and economic development in the Northwest Himalayan Region
