Due to continuous heavy rains in Chandigarh, the water level of Sukhna Lake has risen again, and the water has reached above the danger mark. After this, the situation has worsened in the entire city. Due to this, the floodgates of Sukhna Lake were opened at 7 am on Wednesday. After this, the bridge of Bapu Dham located in Sector-26 has been completely closed. The people of the city have been advised not to come through this route and to take alternative routes.
Apart from this, Deputy Commissioner Nishat Kumar Yadav has banned entry into drains, lakes, ponds, rivers, and other water sources. At the same time, there is also a ban on taking pets and animals into the water, fishing, and swimming. At the same time, let us tell you that these orders are not applicable to disaster management teams, police-army officers, and personnel engaged in rescue operations. These orders will remain in force till October 31 and action will be taken against those who violate them.
