As a gesture of goodwill and undertaking an innovative Outreach Program, 3rd edition of Sauhard 3.0 was organized by SJVN at Corporate Head Quarters, Shimla today. Chairman & Managing Director SJVN, Nand Lal Sharma inaugurated the event by giving away the mementoes & items voluntarily donated by SJVN employees to the low-income outsourced workers deployed by various contractors in SJVN.
As a out of box initiative of visionary Chairman & Managing Director SJVN, Nand Lal Sharma had initiated the innovative concept – My Social Responsibility (MSR) in the year 2019, with an objective of reaching out to the marginalized section of the society. Speaking today on the occasion, Sh Sharma said “My Social Responsibility is our philanthropic endeavor to contribute in striking a balance between economic growth and the welfare of the vulnerable section of the society. It is our personal social responsibility to make efforts to provide amenities to people who are less privileged.”
Sharma further said “Continuing the legacy, more than 372 mementoes were voluntarily donated by 204 SJVN employees. These mementoes were clubbed together and then distributed among 230 workers deployed by various contractors at Corporate Headquarters, Shimla.”
On this occasion, Smt. Geeta Kapur Director (Personnel), Sh. S.P. Bansal Director (Civil), Sh. A.K. Singh Director (Finance) & Sh. Sushil Sharma Director (Electrical) were also present along with senior officials of SJVN.
Under MSR, first edition-Sauhard 1.0 was organised in December 2019. In this, Sh. Nand Lal Sharma donated more than 140 mementoes & gifts received by him on various occasions and functions by outside agencies, organizations and groups. During
the event, Sh Sharma urged the employees to make MSR part of their lives and voluntarily contribute to this cause. This selfless gesture of his acted as an inspiration and second edition-Sauhard 2.0 was organized in July 2020. More than 200 mementoes were voluntarily donated by the employees and these were further distributed among the needy people. Similarly, other Projects & Units of SJVN also adopted MSR and have organized Sauhard at Projects for helping the vulnerable people of nearby vicinity.
SJVN started out with a single project operation in one State and today is implementing Power Projects Pan-India and has also made an international foray by implementing projects in the neighboring countries of Nepal and Bhutan. The current installed capacity of SJVN is 2016.51 MW. The company has a total portfolio of more than 16900 MW in Hydro, Thermal, Solar and Wind Power Generation. SJVN has forayed in Power Generation, Transmission and Trading verticals. The recent addition of new Projects has taken SJVN to newer heights. In line with the target set by the Government of India of Power to All 24X7, SJVN is now on an aggressive growth path that will lead to actualizing its Shared Vision of 5000 MW by 2023, 25000 MW by 2030 & 50000 MW installed capacity by 2040.
