Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN informed that SJVN has upgraded its Shared Vision to 5000MW by 2023, 25000 MW by 2030 & 50000 MW by 2040.
This revision has resulted from addition of multiple projects in its portfolio and already established repute of successfully operating & implementing Mega Hydro Projects in India & abroad. After Hydro, Company has successfully added varied business verticals and forayed into Thermal, Solar, Wind Power Generation, Power Transmission and Power Trading.
Earlier, Vision of 5000 MW installed capacity by 2023, 12,000 MW by 2025 & 25,000 MW by 2040 was formulated and set out 31st Raising Day of SJVN on 24th May, 2018. During last three years, business development of the company has gained pace and made rapid strides.
Sharma said “Relentless efforts of SJVNites has led to Company Portfolio of more than 16000 MW. Growing portfolio of SJVN has necessitated this upward revision of Shared Vision.”
Sharma announced Revised Shared Vision of 5000 MW installed capacity target by 2023, 25,000 MW by 2030 & 50,000 MW by 2040 during his Republic Day address. He said, “Four years back SJVN had portfolio of 5000 MW. Out of this only 1965 MW projects were under operation. Projects which were languishing on the drawing board for several years have been brought to the construction stage. Never before has SJVN been executing as many projects at a time as it is doing today.”
The construction activities are progressing at a fast pace in 8 projects under development. These projects include 900 MW Arun 3 HEP in Nepal, 1320 MW Thermal Project in Bihar, 600 MW Kholongchhu HEP in Bhutan, 210 MW Luhri HEP & 66 MW Dhaulasidh HEP in Himachal Pradesh and 60 MW Naitwar Mori HEP in Uttarakhand.
SJVN’s current Solar & Wind portfolio has expanded from 5.6 MW in 2017 to over 2750 MW. 880 MW Kaza Solar Project in HP, 1000 MW IREDA Solar Project, 200 MW Solar Project in Bihar, Solar Projects in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Gujarat are under various stages of development. 75 MW Parasan & 70 MW Bagodara Solar Projects are in advanced stage of development and are scheduled to be commissioned by August 2022.
The Hydro portfolio of the company has increased substantially. Under international competitive bidding, SJVN has recently obtained prestigious 669 MW Lower Arun Project in Nepal. With 1912 MW installed hydro capacity, Projects of 10556 MW capacity is under various stages of development in India, Nepal & Bhutan.
SJVN has re-engineered its Business Model to be in sync with commitment of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi of 500 GW non-fossil fuel sources by 2030. Further, Under the able guidance of Hon’ble Union Power Minister Sh R.K Singh, SJVN has expanded its horizon pan-India and abroad and added many projects to its kitty. Under the dynamic leadership of visionary CMD Sh Nand Lal Sharma, SJVN has turned into fully diversified multinational power company striding ahead to meet power demands. SJVN is achieving feats, one after other owing to various initiatives adopted in recent year. Company is engaging best international consultants for advising in Technical, Financial & Human Resources areas. SJVN is focusing on completing projects without time & cost overruns before scheduled timelines.
SJVN, founded as single Hydro Power Project Company on 24th May 1988, is today implementing projects in Nepal, Bhutan and eight states of the country. Its 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station and 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station are operating efficiently and have been constantly setting newer records of energy generation.
