The Directorate of Extension Education, Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni organized a two-day training programme on Horticulture for the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel posted at Dharampur. A total of 48 CRPF personnel from eight states attended the training programme.
During this training, various lectures were organized for the CRPF personnel engaging resource persons from different departments of the university for skill development in the field of Horticulture.
The lectures and field visits were organized for the trainees on vegetable production, Floriculture, Mushroom cultivation, Importance and cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants, Insect-pest management in fruit and vegetable crops, etc. Dr. Anil Sood, Joint Director (Communication) was the training coordinator. He delivered a lecture on insect-pest management and also highlighted the role of the university in skill development in horticulture to boost farmers’ income.
