For the convenience of the public and the maintenance of peace and order during the Shravan Ashtami Navratri fair at Mata Shri Chintapurni Temple, special provisions will be made from July 25 to August 3. Using the authority granted by Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), District Magistrate Jatin Lal has made instructions in this regard. The directive states that everyone save the jawans who are assigned to maintain law and order at the fair is not permitted to carry a firearm.
According to Jatin Lal, everyone except the temple trust will not be allowed to use loudspeakers during Navratri in order to prevent noise pollution. Additionally, bringing drums, long tongs, brass bands, etc., to the fair will be strictly prohibited. Anybody who brings these things with them will have to put them down at the police-erected barrier.
Additionally, the usage of polythene will be strictly prohibited throughout this time. Besides, it will be illegal to set up langar in public or by the side of the road, and fireworks and other similar activities will be prohibited. According to the Deputy Commissioner, darshan would not be permitted throughout the fair period if one does not register at the Mata Shri Chintapurni slip counter.
