School of Pharmacy and Emerging Sciences (SPES) students gain firsthand insight into hospital operations during educational tour
Nalagarh: Students of D. Pharmacy first and second year from the School of Pharmacy and Emerging Sciences (SPES) visited KK Hospital in Nalagarh on November 17, 2025, as part of an educational exposure aimed at understanding real-world healthcare operations.
The visit was coordinated by faculty members Mr. Mukesh and Ms. Jyoti Pathania. During the tour, the students were guided by Dr. Khaleel Mohammed, who introduced them to the functioning of a multi-specialty healthcare facility.
Students were taken through various key departments of the hospital, including the Outpatient Department (OPD), Inpatient Department (IPD), emergency care unit, diagnostic laboratory, and the hospital pharmacy. They observed clinical activities, diagnostic procedures, and the coordinated efforts of doctors, nurses, and technicians involved in patient care.
The visit helped students connect their theoretical knowledge with practical hospital workflows and understand the process of patient care from admission to discharge. They also gained insights into professional responsibilities, safety protocols, and the importance of accurate record-keeping in healthcare settings.
The educational tour proved to be a valuable learning experience, enhancing the students’ clinical awareness and strengthening their understanding of the competencies required for their future careers as pharmacy professionals.
