Education Minister Rohit Thakur was present at Salna, a border village of Kuddu Panchayat under Jubbal area today where he presided over the closing ceremony of the 3rd Raj Kumar Memorial Kabaddi Premier League Tournament.
On this occasion, Rohit Thakur congratulated the youth and villagers of Salna village for this event and talked about promoting such events in future as well. He also met the players of both the teams of the final match on the ground and wished them good luck for better performance. The final match was played between the teams of Machoti and Nalagarh in which the team of Nalagarh won.
He said that games like Kabaddi, Volleyball and Kho-Kho are traditional games of our hilly region and in the present times when the youth is getting trapped in the quagmire of drugs, in such a delicate time, organizing such games becomes an important and necessary process. On one hand, games strengthen the health of the youth and on the other hand, a healthy competition is also created, which leads the energy of the youth to a positive direction.
124 roads were passed in Jubbal Kotkhai Vidhansabha area
Rohit Thakur said that Kuddu Panchayat is a border Panchayat adjoining Uttarakhand and he has a special interest in this area from the development point of view and in view of it being a strong bastion of the Congress Party. During his tenure as Education Minister in the present government, in the last about two and a half years, 124 roads have been passed in the entire assembly constituency, in which 4 roads have been passed in Kuddu Panchayat and the road of Salan village is also included in it. The work of construction of roads in this area is going on continuously with an expenditure of about Rs 4 crore. Along with this, the road work in Nadhal village, which is a remote village of this Panchayat, is also in progress and this work will be completed before 15 August 2025. Apart from this, the construction work of the building of Government Senior Secondary School Dhadi Rawat is also in progress and it will be dedicated to the public very soon.
Education Minister bowed his head in the temple of Mahasu Devta
Meanwhile, the Education Minister also visited the State Electricity Board Colony Chaunri where he paid obeisance at the temple of Mahasu Devta and interacted with the local people. The Education Minister said that the present State Government is committed to the development of the State and all-round development has been ensured especially in the Jubbal-Nawar-Kotkhai Assembly constituency. While on one hand Jubbal-Nawar-Kotkhai is at the top in the construction of roads in the whole of Himachal, on the other hand the Government has made the objective of providing quality education its main objective. He said that many important decisions have been taken in this area too in which thousands of posts of teachers of various categories have been filled and in the coming time also the posts of NTT and Vocational Teachers will also be filled soon and this process is in progress.
During this, the Education Minister also announced to give Rs 20 thousand to the Mahila Mandal.
Development work worth crores of rupees is going on in Saraswati Nagar Mahavidyalaya
Earlier, the Education Minister held consultations with the college administration and administrative officials at Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Post Graduate College, Saraswati Nagar. He informed that Saraswati Nagar College is a prestigious educational institution of this area and various development works are in progress in this institution, which mainly include the construction of parking and multipurpose building at a cost of Rs 80 lakh, auditorium and multipurpose building to be constructed at a cost of Rs 8 crore 70 lakh and the work of leveling the playground at a cost of Rs 1 crore is in progress. The Education Minister directed the officials associated with all these works to speed up the work and complete the work within the time limit. He informed that very soon the construction of indoor stadium at a cost of Rs 8 crore 70 lakh and BBA block building at a cost of more than Rs 2 crore will be started in this institution so that the basic structure of education will be strengthened.
The Education Minister also announced to give Rs 50,000 to the local youth group on this event.
