Chief Parliamentary Secretary (Public Works, Health and Family Welfare and Information and Public Relations Department) Sanjay Awasthi said that Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu himself is ensuring that the people of the state affected by the huge disaster this year get timely relief and their rehabilitation. Sanjay Awasthi said that recently the Chief Minister reached Solan and provided relief to the disaster affected under the special relief package. He expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu for providing relief to the disaster affected people of Solan district. He said that the Congress government of the state is truly a government of the common man and the government is completely dedicated to the welfare of the people.
He said that in Solan district, the Chief Minister provided relief amount of more than Rs 11.31 crore to 377 disaster affected families whose houses were completely damaged. Rs 3 lakh each were transferred to the accounts of these affected people as the first installment. He said that so far relief amount of Rs 42.53 crore has been released to the disaster affected people of Solan district. He said that there are 783 such families in the district whose houses have been partially damaged. They are also being provided funds as per the special relief package. There has been a loss of about Rs 653 crore due to disaster in Solan district this year. He expressed hope that with everyone’s cooperation, Himachal will emerge from the disaster and move on the path of progress again.
The Chief Parliamentary Secretary said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, various welfare schemes have been started for the development of the state. He said that the Rs 500 crore Him Ganga scheme will prove to be revolutionary with the aim of strengthening the economy of the state. The first phase of the Start Up Scheme, started at a cost of Rs 680 crore, will provide better self-employment opportunities to the youth of the state. He said that the state government is emphasizing on providing such vocational education which prepares the youth for future challenges.
The Chief Parliamentary Secretary said that attention is being given to the overall development of Arki Assembly constituency. He said that a master plan of Rs 200 crore has been prepared to develop the Baridhar area from the point of view of religious tourism. Work is in progress towards providing better road connectivity, irrigation facilities and quality education in the assembly constituency.
On this occasion, he listened to the problems of the people and instructed the concerned officer for their proper disposal. He said that the state government is committed to solving the pressing problems of the people. He said that the problems of the local people are being resolved in a time bound manner.
On this occasion, Block Congress Committee Arki President Satish Kashyap, Congress Party officials, Sub Divisional Officer Arki Yadvinder Pal along with senior officials of various departments and local people were present.
