Ayush Mela held in Plania; 16 AYUSH centres upgraded to ‘Ayushman Arogya Mandir’ in Arki constituency

Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi stated that the state government is committed to providing modern healthcare facilities and strengthening health services through AYUSH. He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating an AYUSH Mela organised by the AYUSH Department under the Ayush Village Project in Gram Panchayat Plania of the Arki Assembly Constituency.
The MLA said that the government is continuously working to enhance services under the AYUSH Department. As part of this effort, 16 AYUSH health centres in the Arki Assembly Constituency have been upgraded to “Ayushman Arogya Mandir.” He added that facilities such as para-surgical procedures (Agnikarma, bloodletting) and micro-Panchakarma are now available locally at these centres.
He further stated that these centres are providing free diabetes screening, blood tests, and other diagnostic services to villagers near their homes. A special “Vayomitra” OPD has also been introduced for the elderly, offering treatment for joint pain and osteoarthritis.
Awasthi said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, the state government is focused on strengthening healthcare infrastructure. He added that advanced facilities such as robotic surgery have been introduced, and modern medical equipment is being installed in hospitals to ensure quality healthcare services.
On the occasion, the MLA distributed medicinal plants such as Ashwagandha, Giloy, and Moringa among the people and also planted a jamun tree.
He announced financial assistance of ₹2 lakh to the Self Help Group, Plania, for initial building construction, ₹1 lakh for the Mahila Mandal Bhawan at Chaiyan, and additional funds to meet the estimated cost of a boxing ring at Bathalang School. He also announced a mobile food van for the Mahila Mandal, Plania.
During the event, Awasthi interacted with residents under the ‘Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ programme, listened to their grievances, and directed officials to ensure prompt resolution.
Around 200 people registered for the health camp organised as part of the AYUSH Mela, where free consultations, medicines, and diagnostic services were provided.
Yoga instructors also conducted sessions promoting a healthy lifestyle, including special yoga activities for school children.
On this occasion, Sub-Divisional Ayush Medical Officer, Jalana, Dr. Runesh Nagpal briefed attendees about the progress of the Ayush Gram Project.
