Pahari Gandhi Baba Kashiram’s important contribution in patriotic literature and freedom struggle—Mukesh Repaswal
Chamba, July 11
On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Pahari Gandhi Baba Kashiram, a state level literary festival was organized today in the auditorium of the famous heritage center of Chamba – Bhuri Singh Museum under the aegis of Himachal Art, Culture and Language Academy.
Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal was present as the chief guest at the literary function.
In the program, grandsons of Pahadi Gandhi Baba Kashi Ram, Ravi Sharma, Vinod Sharma and Vijay Sharma and great grandsons Vishal Sharma, Siddharth Sharma and Prashant Sharma were present as special guests.
The first session of the function was presided over by Padmashree Vijay Chambyal, while the second session was organised under the chairmanship of litterateur Dr. Mastram Sharma.
In his address, chief guest Mukesh Repaswal described the patriotic literature and contribution of Pahari Gandhi Baba Kashiram in the freedom struggle as a source of inspiration and said that it is the responsibility of all of us to pass on the ideology of such heroes to future generations.
He said that such events hold a special significance for spreading the sacrifices and struggles of the heroes of Indian freedom struggle for the country to the common people.
He expressed pleasure over organizing the state level literary festival in Chamba district on the occasion of Pahari Gandhi Baba Kashiram Jayanti and thanked all litterateurs for attending the event.
Before this, the Deputy Commissioner officially inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp and offering garland and floral tribute to the photograph of Pahari Gandhi Baba Kashiram.
While chairing the first session, Padma Shri Vijay Chambyal in his address, mentioned various aspects related to the personality of Pahari Gandhi Baba Kashiram, mentioning his talent and patriotism and his contribution to Pahari literature.
In the second session, former Assistant Commissioner Chamba and litterateur PP Singh were present as the special guest.
Litterateur Dr. Mastram Sharma remembered Pahari Gandhi Baba Kashiram for his special contribution to social concerns, Indian freedom struggle and literature in the multilingual kavi sammelan held in the second session.
In the ceremony, renowned litterateur Dr. Shankar Vasishtha, patriotic litterateur- Pahari Gandhi Baba Kashiram and Ramesh Chandra Mastana presented their lectures on the topic ‘Azadiya Di Kranti De Kabir- Pahari Gandhi Baba Kashiram’. During this, Chamba’s young litterateur Yudhveer Tandon threw light on the life journey of Pahari Gandhi Baba Kashiram through his presentation.
Litterateurs from various districts of Himachal Pradesh participated in the function and recited poems focusing on the personality and literature of Pahari Gandhi Baba Kashiram.
Assistant Secretary, Himachal Art, Culture and Language Academy, Dr. Shyama Verma gave the welcome address in the program.
District Language Officer Tukesh Sharma thanked all the litterateurs present.
