A dynamic Faculty Development Workshop on STEM Education was successfully conducted at The Lawrence School, Sanawar, drawing participation from nearly 60 faculty members. The workshop was led by distinguished experts from Jaypee University of Information Technology, Waknaghat, aiming to strengthen interdisciplinary teaching practices and introduce contemporary advancements in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The sessions were spearheaded by eminent academicians including Prof. Tiratha Raj Singh, Dr. Ragini Raj Singh, and Dr. Saurabh Srivastava. Prof. Singh underscored the transformative power of STEM education in nurturing creativity, innovation, and analytical thinking through project-based and experiential learning models.
Dr. Ragini Raj Singh highlighted the growing convergence of nanoscience and Artificial Intelligence, discussing their far-reaching applications in healthcare, environmental sustainability, and advanced electronics. She emphasized how emerging technologies are reshaping modern education and research landscapes.
Dr. Saurabh Srivastava elaborated on the foundational role of mathematics in STEM disciplines, particularly the application of linear algebra in Artificial Intelligence. He explained its real-world use in image processing and recommendation systems employed by global companies such as Amazon.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation, vibrant discussions, and collaborative idea-sharing among faculty members. Educators explored innovative pedagogical approaches and practical strategies to integrate advanced scientific and technological concepts into everyday classroom teaching.
The successful conduct of the programme was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the school leadership, including Headmaster Mr. Himmat S. Dhillon, Deputy Headmaster Mr. Ravi Kumar, Ms. Aashima Bath (Head TEC), Mr. Hitender Jamwal (Head of Faculty, Computer Science), and Mr. R. P. Gautam (Faculty, Mathematics).
