In the state, Rs 7 crore 86 lakh has been spent on 3,730 children in the year 2023-24, Rs 16 crore 25 lakh on 4,409 children in the year 2024-25 and Rs 17 crore 34 lakh on 4,112 children till now in the year 2025-26. Under the scheme, a provision of assistance of Rs 3 lakh has been made for house construction. Under this component, Rs 4 crore 8 lakh 50 thousand has been distributed to 390 beneficiaries so far. An amount of up to Rs 11 crore 73 lakh will be allocated after the completion of the work. House construction assistance has also been provided to 19 beneficiaries in Shimla district.
The scheme provided support to live and strength to move forward – Nitin
Nitin Kapatiya, a resident of Tehsil Rampur, was left completely alone and homeless after the death of his parents. During these difficult times, the Chief Minister’s Sukh Ashray Yojana (CMSU) became a source of support. The monthly financial assistance of ₹4,000 and the ₹2 lakh received as a housing grant fulfilled his dream of owning a home. Today, Nitin lives in his home with self-respect and confidence. He says, “This scheme has given me the support to live and the strength to move forward. For this, I am deeply grateful to Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu.”
Sukh Ashray Yojana is providing support to orphans and needy children – Shivani
Shivani of Nankhari tehsil, Shimla district, is an inspiring example of this scheme. After losing her father when she was in sixth grade and her mother when she was in eleventh grade, she began living with her grandparents because they had no home. Financial assistance of ₹1.50 lakh under the Chief Minister’s Sukh Ashray Yojana has made her dream of owning a home come true. Shivani says, “This support has brought new hope to my life. This scheme is providing support to orphans and needy children like us.”

In Shimla district, housing assistance has been provided to 19 beneficiaries under this scheme, which is highly commendable.
