Himachal government has decided to move the Supreme Court against the decision to cut down fruit laden apple trees planted on forest land. Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi has prepared a draft for this after meeting with officials. Revenue and Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi said that cutting down fruit laden trees can harm the environment. With this argument, the government will file a petition in the Supreme Court. He said that the danger of disaster due to land erosion caused by cutting down fruit trees during rainy season will also be placed before the Supreme Court.
The Advocate General and the Forest Department have been instructed to prepare for filing a petition in the Supreme Court. Remember that the Himachal Pradesh High Court has given instructions to remove encroachment on forest land in its decision. Himachal Kisan Sabha has also announced to gherao the state secretariat on July 29 regarding this matter.
