At the time of rising inflation, the Sukhu government has provided major relief to the common people. Mustard oil availability at fair price ration depots had reduced, but from the new year, mustard oil will again be provided at cheaper rates through these depots.
As soon as the government approves the supply order, low-priced mustard oil will reach fair price shops across the state. This step will benefit around 19.10 lakh ration card holders. After the new tender process, mustard oil will become ₹7 cheaper per litre at ration depots.
At present, ration card holders get mustard oil at ₹160 per litre, while income tax payers get it at ₹161 per litre through depots. However, from January, both APL and BPL families will get mustard oil at ₹153 per litre.
Under this scheme, two litres of oil per ration card are being provided, including one litre of refined oil. In addition, the government is also providing three types of pulses (Malka Mash, Mash and Chana Dal), along with sugar and salt, at subsidised rates to consumers.
