Deputy Commissioner Apoorva Devgan said that under the Swachh Bharat Mission Rural Phase-II, Swachhta Hi Seva campaign has been started in the district till October 2. Under this campaign, emphasis is being laid on making urban and rural areas garbage free.
The Deputy Commissioner gave this information during a meeting held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office with officials of various departments regarding the activities to be organized under the campaign.
He said that under the campaign, on October 1, Shramdaan will be done for cleanliness for 1 hour in the offices of various departments, around educational institutions and at identified places at the Panchayat level. He called upon everyone to ensure labor donation and public participation in the campaign so that the district can be kept clean.
During the discussion in the meeting, he said that all the departments will identify the garbage areas around various offices and on October 1, they will ensure the cleanliness of the area by volunteering for one hour. He also directed to ensure proper disposal of the collected waste at the designated waste collection center or selected location at the Panchayat level.
He said that various activities are being organized under the theme of Swachhta Hi Seva Abhiyan 2023, Garbage Free India.
