Swami Krishnananda Giriji of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India today unveiled the statue of Srinivasa Ramanujan who had made substantial contributions to number theory, including solutions to mathematical problems considered unsolvable.
Swamiji also dedicated a voluminous holy book “Bhagavad Geeta” to Yogananda Centre for Theology, Shoolini University. Prof. Prem Kumar Khosla, Chancellor and Patron of Yogananda Centre for Theology together with Chairman of the Yoganananda Centre for Theology, Mr Vivek Atray and other delegates, students, faculty members and YSS devotees attended the event.
Swamiji recited Chapter 12 of the Bhagavad Geeta and thereafter a meditation session of half an hour was conducted for all those present.
Swamiji gave one message to all young students who are the future of India to learn, read this holy scripture i.e. the Bhagavad Gita daily. During his talk to the audience Swami Krishnananda Giri spoke on how the truth and honesty always pay dividends in life. He inspired the students to make a habit to meditate.
Swamiji is a senior monk of the Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS) founded by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1917. He is an Electrical Engineer from IIT Bombay and has been a monk for more than 45 years. He has travelled to many countries and States of India and delivered talks there. He is a nephew of Nobel laureate Chandrasekaran Ramakrishnan.
Ramanujam, a self taught mathematical genius, became one of the youngest Fellows of the Royal Society of London and the first Indian to be elected a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge.
