The Yogananda Centre for Theology (YCT) at Shoolini University hosted a national seminar on Science of Happiness in association with the School of Ancient Indian Wisdom and Yoga Sciences.
The seminar featured an insightful keynote session by Swami Samarananda Giri, Vice President of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India.
Shoolini University Chancellor Prof. P K Khosla addressed the audience and felicitated the guests.
The session began with the guest of honour of the seminar Eika Banerjee, founder of Eikam Resonance sharing her wisdom and asking questions, “What holds us back from happiness?” and how to manage anger and expectations. She shared with students three important virtues which involve Kashetra, Karma and the Kriya or action of replacing negative thoughts with alternatives.
Guest Speaker of the seminar was Swami Swarnananda Giri, Vice President of the Yogoda Satsanga Society of India, Swami spoke about the science of happiness, the joy of sleeping, and the relationship between joy and meditation. He emphasised that meditation can be called “conscious sleep” and highlighted the subtle difference between self-esteem and ego. He further added though happiness is subjective but should be scientific and can be manufactured by meditation.
He said Meditation is a way to touch your inner soul. Ancient saints said that breath and mind are connected, so meditation follows this scientific technique to happiness. Swami Giri engaged with the attendees in an interactive session where he performed meditation with them, leaving the audience with a profound experience.
Vice Chancellor Prof Atul khosla thanked Swami Swarnananda Giri for his insightful lecture and also encouraged students to understand the meaning of humility and to start practicing meditation. He also announced that by August there will be a center of Happiness at Shoolini University
On the occasion quiz competition was also organised and the winners of the quiz competition were also announced. Winners were Sampurn Tiwari and Ayeshi Majumdar. First runner ups were Ishita Thakur and Aashreya Pandey. Second runner ups were Isha and Ashish Verma.
The seminar was attended by Chancellor Prof. PK Khosla, Vice Chancellor Atul Khosla, Mrs Saroj Khosla President SILB, Vivek Attray Ex-IAS and motivational speaker. Was coordinated by YCT coordinator and Assistant Prof. Supriya Shrivastva. The seminar concluded with the formal vote of thanks by Ex-IAS and motivational speaker Vivek Attray. He said we should exemplify everything what we learn every day.
