The 10th Annual Shoolini Marathon marked a spirited celebration of Teachers’ Day as participants from Shoolini University, led by Chancellor Prof PK Khosla, and Vice Chancellor Professor Atul Khosla.
The marathon, organised by the Dean Students Welfare (DSW) team, was flagged off
from Thodo Ground by Mr. Manmohan Sharma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Solan, who was the Chief Guest of the occasion.
The event witnessed a vibrant mix of students, faculty, and staff members, each contributing to the marathon’s success. The participants were categorised into distinct age groups, fostering an inclusive atmosphere for all. Among the students, the competition was fierce, with David, Aurgopration Gosh, and Shail clinching the top three positions for boys, while Radhika, Anushka, and Mirgna secured the top positions for the girls’ category.
For the faculty and staff members, the competition was equally spirited, and categorised into age brackets. In the “up to 35 years” category, Gyanchand emerged as the male champion, while Anandita and Sana in the female category. In the “35-45 years” category, Vikas and Reenu Sood Pal claimed the first positions among males and females, respectively.
Saurabh Kulshrestha and Alice excelled in the “45-50 years” category for males and females, respectively. In the “50-55 years” category, Mr Ashish Khosla secured the top position, while Prof. Atul Khoska took the second position. Finally, in the “55-65 years” category, Dean of Management Sciences, Munish Sehrawat, displayed exceptional athleticism to secure the first position.
The marathon celebrated not only athletic prowess but also camaraderie, with monetary prizes awarded to the winners. First-place winners received Rs. 3000, second-place winners received Rs. 2000, and third-place winners received Rs. 1500. Additionally, refreshments and water were thoughtfully provided to all participants, ensuring their well-being throughout the challenging race.
The 10th Annual Shoolini Marathon not only paid homage to Teachers’ Day but also showcased the spirit of unity, athleticism, and dedication within the Shoolini University community.
