Shoolini University organised a special session with well—known Indian film and theatre actor and director Rajit Kapur, to discuss the importance of incorporating theatre-based techniques into teaching and improving student engagement.
Rajit Kapur, who is well-known for his portrayal of Mahatma Gandhi in the critically acclaimed 1996 film “The Making of the Mahatma,” shared his insights and experiences with the faculty members of university during the interactive session.
During his talk, Kapur emphasised the need for teachers to be creatively engaged with their students and present both physically and mentally in the classroom. He also discussed the importance of voice modulation in teaching, noting that the tone and rhythm of a teacher’s voice can have a significant impact on student engagement and learning.
Kapur also touched on the significance of a teacher’s physical appearance and their engagement with students, emphasising the need for educators to be approachable and relatable to their students.
The session concluded with remarks from Mr. Ashish Khosla, Director of Innovations and Learning at Shoolini University, who expressed his gratitude to Kapur for sharing his valuable insights and experiences with the faculty members.
