The rescue team has again left to search for Shimla mountaineer Ashutosh, who went missing on Friendship Peak in November 2022. 10 experienced mountaineers from Atal Bihari Vajpayee Mountaineering Associated Sports Institute, Manali left from Manali on Wednesday morning for the search. This team will search from Dhundhi via Chandrabala Peak and reach Friendship Peak.
It is noteworthy that in November 2022, Shimla climber Ashutosh, who had gone with friends to climb the Friendship Peak situated at a height of 17,346 feet, was hit by an avalanche. A campaign was launched to search for him. But no trace of him could be found. A week ago also a rescue team was sent to the peak.
In the search operation that lasted for about five days, no important clue could be found and the team returned. On Wednesday, a team was again sent to Friendship Peak. Now the team will conduct a search operation from Atal Tunnel-Dhundhi below Chandrabala Peak to the other end of Friendship Peak.
Institute director Avinash Negi said that the rescue team has left. A search operation will be conducted at the other end of the peak. He said that till now the clue of the missing climber has not been found. He told that this team will reach the base camp today. On Thursday morning the team will go to Friendship Peak and start the search operation.
