The second Ted Talk held at Shoolini University concluded on Sunday after the sessions by well-known actors Piyush Mishra and Rajit Kapur. A theatre play, ‘Panchlate’ by students also captivated the audience on the culminating day of the event.
Dr. Ashoo Khosla moderated Rajit Kapur’s opening session for the day, in which he spoke about his early experiences with art and performance. He said that web series have radically transformed the way people view content when it comes to over-the-top (OTT) content. Everyone in the film industry has benefited from it, and the distinction between actor and star is gradually dissolving, which is a good thing.
Scenes from his films were shown during his session, and he told stories about those periods. He also spoke about his friendship with director Shyam Benegal and discussed his long-running character Byomkesh Bakshi, saying that the role was incredibly realistic and straightforward.
A fun quick rapid fire round was done at the end of the session followed by a Q&A session in which audience interacted with Mr. Kapur.
Meanwhile renowned lyricist, actor and poet Piyush MIshra, had a candid conversation with Ankur Bashar, Assistant Professor – Perrforming Arts who also happens to be his senior in National School of Drama, Delhi.
He expalined the importance of Yoga and vipasana to the yound students of the university. “I was an alcoholic, ruined my precious years due to it, i am thankful to almighty and Yoga that i can come out of it”, he added.
Piyush Mishra also taught and explained the importance of art, he said how its important to visualise to write a poem or a script. You need to live the moment you are potraying on paper , Mishra said.
Piyush Mishra also asked the Director of learning, Mrs Ashoo khosla to have a school of performing arts being setup in the university. He said that Shoolini University has talented kids who can be nurtured to pursue acting and theatre.
