A review meeting of the Scheme Steering Committee (SSC) for Bulk Drug Park (BDP) Una was held in New Delhi today under the Chairmanship of Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Arunish Chawla to deliberate on the extension of the Bulk Drug Park (BDP) Scheme tenure up to the Financial Year 2026 and to assess the progress of the Bulk Drug Park in Una.
During the meeting, Rakesh Kumar Prajapati, Director Industries cum-Managing Director-cum-CEO, Himachal Pradesh Bulk Drug Pharma Infrastructure Limited (HPBDPIL), presented the board contour plan of the Bulk Drug Park along with other required details.
Rakesh Kumar Prajapati explained the rationale for the requested extension. He highlighted the significant impact of the recent disaster caused by heavy rainfall and subsequent losses in Himachal Pradesh in 2023, as well as delays in obtaining environmental clearance due to the enumeration of trees in the park by the forest department and other related requirements.
After thorough consideration, the committee was convinced by the justifications provided and agreed to grant the requested extension till March 2026.
Director Industries assured the committee that the project would be completed within the new agreed timelines and that the entire team would work diligently to meet these deadlines. He also expressed his gratitude to the committee for their support and guidance.
The SSC’s decision to extend the BDP Scheme tenure reflects their commitment to ensuring the successful completion of this critical project, which holds significant potential for the pharmaceutical sector and the economic development of Himachal Pradesh.
Tilak Sharma Additional Director Industries, Joint Director Anshul Dhiman, Executive Engineer HPSIDC Rajesh Minhas and EY Official Sumit Dogra were also present in the meeting.
