Roads are closed and bridges are broken in Banjar assembly constituency
More than 600 residential houses are completely damaged in the area
Banjar assembly constituency MLA Surendra Shauri made serious allegations against the state government and administration and said that the state is facing a terrible disaster, but due to the government’s insensitivity and negligence, the public is not getting relief. MLA Shauri said that due to heavy rains and landslides, roads are closed in Banjar assembly constituency, bridges are broken, and people have become homeless from their homes.
Despite this, no concrete effort of the government is visible in relief work. He alleged that the administrative staff is busy only in paperwork and the affected people are not getting help at the ground level. When the public is crying for help, this attitude of the government and administration is very unfortunate. The MLA said that due to the negligence of the officials, there has been a delay in the restoration of NH 305, due to which there is a huge problem in the movement of patients and relief material. The condition of the road is still pathetic at many places. At the same time, patients in the Civil Hospital Banjar are facing a huge shortage of drinking water. Due to heavy landslides, the building of Banjar College is on the verge of collapse.
He said that people are facing the problem of ration, but the administration is not able to provide food items to the people in rural areas, while due to the main roads of rural areas not being restored, people’s fruits and vegetables rotted in the fields. MLA Shourie said that till now more than 600 residential houses have been completely damaged in Banjar assembly constituency. Shourie demanded that the government should speed up the relief and rehabilitation work with immediate effect, and proper assistance should be provided to all the affected people. He also said that if the state government does not take the situation seriously, then he will protest on the streets along with the public even in this terrible period of disaster.
