In Kunihar, the police took action against chitta smugglers and arrested two youths, including a police constable, on charges of smuggling. This action was taken on the basis of police patrolling and secret information.
The police had received secret information that two youths were bringing chitta on a motorcycle from Subathu. On this information, Kunihar police blocked the road in Sanogi and stopped the motorcycle and caught the youths.
The youths riding the motorcycle were identified as Ankush Kumar (28) and Nitish (28). During the search, 4.60 grams of chitta was recovered from them.
SP Solan Gaurav Singh confirmed that the accused, Ankush Kumar is posted as a police constable in SDRF in Shimla. The police have seized the motorcycle and are investigating the previous criminal record of both the accused. He said that a case has been registered under sections 21 and 29 at Kunihar police station and further investigation is going on.
