The Indian Institute of Advanced Study is going to organize a three day special virtual academic program from 22nd to 24th July 2021. The seminar to be organized under the titled as “IIAS during Covid19: RETROSPECT AND PROSPECT”, is divided into two sub-themes. Under one theme, research work done in the Institute during the Covid pandemic and their results will be discussed, while under the other, future research projects, various thematic dialogues and activities will be outlined and suggestions will also be invited from scholars.
In the inaugural session on July 22, the Director of the Institute, Professor Makrand R. Paranjpe will present the welcome address. Professor Baldev Bhai Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Kushabhai Thakeray University of Journalism and Mass Communication, Raipur, Chhattisgarh will present the inaugural address on the occasion, while the introductory remarks will be presented by Professor Rajveer Sharma and Professor Madhav Hada, a well-known Hindi writer. In this four session’s seminar, the main focus is to discuss the academic activities such as Annual Lecture Series, national-international, weekly seminars presented by fellows, special lecture series, book discussions held at IIAS during Kovid-19 and restoration work of the main historical building carried out by the institute. In addition, emphasis will also be given on publication of monographs and library collection.
PRO of IIAS, Akhilesh Pathak informed that Professor Sitanshu Yashchandra, Professor Deepti Tripathi, Professor Avadhesh Pradhan, Professor Sudhir Singh, Dr. Anjali Duhan, Professor Ramesh Chandra Pradhan, Professor Bijoy Barua, Professor Bharat Gupta, Professor Suryakant, Professor Manindra Thakur, Professor Nandkishore Acharya, Prof. Dr. Purohit, Professor Shashiprabha, Professor M.P. Singh, Dr. Balram Shukla, Professor Gurpreet Mahajan, Professor Radhavallabh Tripathi, Praful Ketkar, Tarun Vijay, Tapasya Samal, Sangeeta Beas and Aditi M. Goel and Sankrant Sanu from Vani Prakashan Group are the prominent speakers.
Although the institute did not remain unaffected by the impact of the corona, despite this, the Institute organised academic activities of national and international importance, which would be a milestone in the history of the Institute.
