Shimla Police achieved a major success on Saturday under a special campaign against drug trafficking. A team from Kotkhai Police Station, while patrolling the Nihari area, searched a vehicle and recovered 31.46 grams of heroin. Three accused were arrested on the spot.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Karamjit Singh (34), son of Sardar Gurvinder Singh, resident of Dhillon Nagar, Ludhiana (Punjab); Gurvinder Singh (36), son of Sardar Harjinder Singh, resident of Basant Nagar, Ludhiana (Punjab); and Vyom Khakta (27), son of Prem Prakash, resident of village Shaon, Post Office Garawag, Tehsil Kotkhai, District Shimla.
According to the police, a case has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act. The recovered narcotics and the vehicle have been seized, and further investigation is underway to identify other individuals involved in the drug trafficking network.
