Though Himachal Pradesh is one of the largest power-producing states in the country, but rural areas of Kullu district are still facing erratic power supply and low voltage. In the district, hundreds of villages in Mashiar, Majhli and Kameda have raised the issue several times, but no step was taken yet.
Former deputy president of mashyar panchayat Prakash Thakur, ward members Bhag Singh, het Ram, Lal Chand, Amar Bharti, Hira Lal, Dalip Singh, Keshav Ram, Darbari, Lal, Gobind Ram, Gopal Krishna, dharamchand, Ram Krishna, Pyar Singh and Prem Singh, among others, said that since August 7, they are facing this problem as the spare parts of the transformer of the manjhali have burnt. Though it was repaired, till now a new transformer has not been installed. The problem in the transformer of the medium will be resolved soon.

New sub-stations and transmission lines have been proposed and variations were made in the grid recently. He has suggested controlling the supply through the grid. Some areas near the sub-stations are facing the problem of high voltage, which would be looked into, he adds.
