Solan, August 5.
On the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, Shoolini University and Gram Panchayat Sanhol organised a tree plantation drive in and around the premises of Government High School Glanak under Sanhol Panchayat. The trees which were planted were cedar, baan, poplar, kafal, etc.
Mr. Vivek Sharma, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Solan, was the chief guest at the programme, along with Mr. Tej Prakash, Forest Ranger Officer, and Mr. Sanjay Sharma, AC to Deputy Commissioner DC. Solan. Mr. Naresh Sharma, and JE Panchayati Raj, and Mr. Ramesh Sharma, Block Development Officer (BDO) Solan, also planted cedar, golden, ridge, and poplar trees. The Forest Ranger Officer ensures the survival of the plants by assuring the tree guards for the protection of the plants. Students and teachers at Government High School Glanak participated in the tree plantation drive.
Shoolini University students and NSS, NCC students, took a pledge to make the school premises clean and beautiful by planting one sapling tree. Shoolini University will continue to organise such programmes in the future as well. Shoolini University is committed to the environment and will continue such activities in surrounding panchayats , schools and public places. We have a target of planting 10 thousand saplings and this will ensure the survival of plants, said Mr. Suresh Sharma, Director of Landscape and Innovative Projects at Shoolini University.
