Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni took part in the 1st International Conference on Global Initiatives in Research, Innovation and Sustainable Development of Agriculture and Allied Sciences which was held recently at the Guru Kashi University, Bathinda in association with Just Agriculture and AEEFWS. Dr. Gurbachan Singh, Former Chairman of ASRB was the Chief Guest during the conference.
Avinash Kumar Bhatia and Himani Gautam, Ph.D. students of the university, and presently serving as HP coordinator and Vice-President at Just Agriculture respectively, informed that during the conference, the university students presented their posters in offline mode. Archita Thakur, student of MSc 2nd Year Food Science and Technology was awarded Second Prize in poster presentation. Saakshi, 2nd-year student of PhD Agroforestry, Praveen Kashyap, 3rd year PhD Environmental Science student and Chahat Thakur, 2nd Year PhD Food Science and Technology student were awarded best MSc thesis award in their respective disciplines. Besides, Dr. Anil Kumar Verma, Assistant Professor, Department of Food Science and Technology bagged the Excellence in Teaching Award. Avinash Bhatia and Himani Gautam were bestowed with the Award of Appreciation for their contribution in conducting the conference.
The students met UHF Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajeshwar Singh Chandel and thanked him for providing an opportunity for the students to take part in the conference. He congratulated the students for bringing laurels to the university.
