Six BSc Horticulture students of Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni participated in the Gunotsav-India Self Reliant with Education organized last week. This event was organized by Education Culture Upliftment Trust, New Delhi in collaboration with ICAR- New Delhi. The major theme of the event was the implementation of ‘Self-reliant India with Education and National Education Policy-2020’.
In this event, comprehensive discussions and deliberations were made so that National Education Policy -2020 can be successfully implemented. Over 800 dignitaries including Vice Chancellors, Directors, Senior Educationists, Head of Educational Institutions, Deans, etc. from across the country and 3000 students took part.
Students from UHF showcased their entrepreneurial activities at this event. Shweta Shrey, Sahil Kant, Sumita Sheoran, Abhishek, Sunil Thakur, and Karan Koushal participated and successfully demonstrated their learning outcomes. The entrepreneurship skills demonstrated were on Mushrooms, Dry Flowers, Food and Bakery Products, Herbal Tea, and Incense Sticks made from used temple flowers. Shweta Shrey was invited by the DDG (Education) to share her learning outcomes in front of the national gathering. She brilliantly presented her learning outcomes from IDP-UHF and shared the success stories of entrepreneurship. The contribution of IDP-UHF was also acknowledged.
The Institutional Development Plan-IDP project is providing entrepreneurial skills to the students through the execution of various vocational courses and the participating students were the beneficiaries of these vocational courses. All the students and the IDP were acknowledged by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries and the stall arranged by the students was widely acknowledged. Dr. Manish Kumar, Dean COH Nauni and Dr. PL Sharma, Dean COH&F Thunag also took part in the event.
