Una, December 6- Under the HP Shiva Project, Rs 1300 crore will be spent in seven districts of Himachal Pradesh during the next four years. In this project working under ADB, apart from citrus plants, gardens of various types of fruit plants including pomegranate, guava and litchi will be planted on 6000 hectares of land. This information was given by Horticulture Revenue and Tribal Development Minister Jagat Singh Negi during the inspection of FLD of HP Shiva Project in Baul, Pipli and Kholi villages during his one-day stay in Una district. He said that under HP Shiva Project, 11 FLD clusters have been created on 12 hectare land in development block Bangana at a cost of about Rs 1 crore 30 lakh, in which mango and guava saplings have been planted. He said that Rs 18.45 crore is being spent by ADB HP Shiva Project through Jal Shakti Department to provide irrigation facility to horticulture under Kutlahar assembly constituency, under which five panchayats will get the benefit of irrigation facility.
The Horticulture Minister visited various places and had detailed conversations with the gardeners associated with the HP Shiva Project. On this occasion, he appreciated the work of the officers of Horticulture Department Bangana and gave them necessary directions to bring more efficiency in the implementation of HP Shiva Project. He instructed the horticulture officers that the gardeners associated with the HP Shiva Project should be made to visit the institutes and universities related to horticulture and the scientists associated with it should be made to visit various clusters so that the gardeners can get maximum information about the new technologies of the horticulture department. Can be provided and practical problems related to gardeners can be made aware to the scientists related to horticulture technology. He said that to increase the income of the gardeners associated with the HP Shiv Project, they should be motivated and trained about different types of cash crops on the vacant land between the Haldar plants.
On this occasion, SDM Bangana Manoj Kumar, Deputy Director of Horticulture Department KK Bhardwaj, Executive Engineer of Jal Shakti Department Praveen Sharma and SDO Aman Kumar, Subject Matter Expert of Horticulture Department Shivbhushan Kanwar, Horticulture Development Officer Virendra Kumar, Horticulture Extension Officer Mohammad Arshad and others were present. Officers and employees of departments and local gardeners from different areas were present.
