Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order) Shimla Pankaj Sharma said that the sale of firecrackers without a valid license is strictly prohibited.
Any person found indulging in unauthorized sale, storage, or distribution of firecrackers will be dealt with sternly as per the provisions of law. Strict penal action, including seizure of stock and registration of cases, will be initiated against violators.
He said that it has come to the notice of the district administration that certain individuals/shops may attempt to sell firecrackers during the upcoming Diwali festival without obtaining the requisite license under the Explosives Act 1884 and rules 2008.
All licensed sellers are directed to strictly comply with the conditions of their license. The general public is also requested to purchase firecrackers only from authorized licensed vendors and designated places.
He said that the district administration seeks cooperation of all citizens in ensuring a safe, peaceful, and environmentally responsible Diwali celebration 2025, so that no untoward incident happens during the celebrations.
