· Governor visits Vibrant villages Nako and Leo

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on his three-day visit to Kinnaur district visited Nako and Leo villages under the Vibrant Village program on Monday and interacted with the villagers. Lady Governor Janaki Shukla also accompanied him.
While interacting with the villagers of Leo, the Governor said that 55 villages of Kinnaur district have been included in the Vibrant Village Programme where various schemes were being implemented to speed up the pace of development. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also requested him to visit the border villages called as Vibrant Villages. I had decided to visit these areas but due to heavy rains in the recent past, I had to postpone my tour. Now, I have come here so that I can interact with you”, said Sh. Shukla.
He said that every possible effort would be made to resolve the road-related demands of the local people. “If there are no objections of the Honorable Court regarding the Nautor and Forest Rights Act, then efforts will be made to resolve the matters through talks at the appropriate level so that people can get due benefits”, said the Governor.
On reaching Leo village, the Governor visited the exhibition of local produce put up by Fulsum Khandi and Nirup Self Help Group under the National Rural Livelihood Mission.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Kinnaur, Torul Ravish welcomed the Governor and informed about the activities being implemented in these areas.
Pradhan, Leo Gram Panchyat, Namgyul Kumar welcomed the Governor and apprised him about the local problems.
Earlier, the Governor visited Nako Lake and the village and interacted with the people besides listening to their grievances.
On the occasion, the Governor said that culture has kept the people together even in adverse circumstances. He had all praise for the rich culture and traditions of the area he visited.
On the occasion, representatives of Hangrang Rinchen Buddhist Cultural Heritage Institute welcomed the Governor. The Governor and Lady Governor visited the monastery established here and also toured the village. He also visited Nako Lake.
Secretary to the Governor, Rajesh Sharma, Superintendent of Police Shri Vivek Chahal and other prominent people were also present on the occasion.
