A delegation of 35 students accompanied by their 3 faculty members from Government Polytechnic for Women, Kandaghat visited the JUIT campus on 13-03-2024. These students are studying in their final and pre-final year of diploma in ECE stream. During their visit to JUIT, they were given training by the ECE department faculty and the lab-staff supported by Prof. Rajiv Kumar, Head of ECE Department. Dr. Salman Raju and Dr. Pardeep Garg who are the Coordinators of Factory Automation Lab (FA) supported by Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt. Ltd. at JUIT conducted the training sessions for the delegates. Dr. Salman Raju covered the fundamental concepts of Automation using Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). He discussed the logic designing in PLC using Ladder logic concepts. Then, he demonstrated a project designed by themselves on Water-Level Controller, and an application showing the use of Human Machine Interface (HMI) using FA Learning Set-Up. Afterwards, Dr. Pardeep Garg described the basics of Industrial Robot, its functioning followed by a live demonstration of a project designed for Pick and Drop application. Then, the delegates were taken to Drone Lab of ECE department where the various categories of Drones which are designed by the students of ECE department were showcased to them. All the students including their faculty members (Ms. Nishi Verma, Mr. Rajeev Kumar, and Mr. Atul Sharma) of Government Polytechnic for Women, Kandaghat felt very happy, and they praised a lot of the ECE department’s Labs, JUIT campus, Mess Food, and the overall infrastructure of JUIT.
