BBMB will release water from Pong Dam on Wednesday at 5 p.m. due to the ongoing rise in the water level. In this respect, BBMB has sent a written letter to the Executive Engineer of Shahnahar Division, the District Magistrate of Kangra, the SDM of Fatehpur, Jawali, Indora, Dehradun Gopipur, Nurpur, and the Tehsildar of Fatehpur. At 5 p.m. on Wednesday, BBMB will discharge 23,300 cusecs of water from the spillway and turbine.
Pong Lake’s water level has risen to 1369.44 feet. Because the lower region panchayats asked BBMB to notify them 24 hours prior to the water being released, BBMB has given residents advance notice. Before the water was released, the residents in the lower area were notified, according to SDM Fatehpur Vishrut Bharti. According to him, the government is ready as well, and everyone has been urged to be vigilant.
