The weather may worsen in the central and high mountain areas of the state from Monday, while the forecast of definite rain and snowfall on December 27 has been issued by the Meteorological Department. According to the Meteorological Department, a fresh western disturbance will affect the western Himalayan region and surrounding plains from December 27, the effect of which will also be visible in Himachal.
On 23rd and 24th December, light rain and snowfall are expected at one or two places in the middle and high mountain areas, while on 27th December, rain and snowfall are expected at many places in the middle and high mountain areas, and light rain is expected at some places in the plains. In such a situation, Indradev may be kind to the areas suffering from drought. However, on 21st, 22nd, and 23rd December, an orange alert has been issued for severe cold waves at some places in the lower hilly and plain areas, while a yellow alert has been issued on 24th December, while a yellow alert has been issued for frost in Bhakra Dam and Balh Valley.
Now the minimum temperature has started falling in the high mountain areas of the state. The minimum temperature record of Tabo has been minus 14 degrees. It has reached minus 7.8 degrees in Kukumseri and minus 6.8 degrees in Samdho. Apart from this, the minimum temperature in Sundernagar, Bhuntar, Kalpa, Manali, Reckong Peo, Seobagh and Bajaura also remained in minus. The state witnessed sunshine on Saturday, and the maximum temperature in Una was 24.5 degrees, while in the capital Shimla it was 16.4 degrees. The temperature is increasing due to sunshine during the day, but a significant drop has been observed in the nighttime temperature.
