For the coming future, it is necessary to make the new generation aware of science and technology: Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ramesh Chauhan
On the occasion of National Science Day at APG Shimla University here on Monday, on behalf of School of Sciences, Prof. Dr. Maninder Kaur and Dean Prof. Dr. Rohini Dhadela organized a webseminar. The theme of the webseminar was Integrated Approaches in Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future. In this webseminar, Chairperson of Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities and UIT of Himachal Pradesh University, Prof. Dr. Shyam Sharan attended the webseminar as the keynote speaker while the Vice Chancellor of APG Shimla University, Prof. Dr. Ramesh Chauhan was the chief guest in the webseminar. Students and professors of APG Shimla University registered their presence in the web-seminar, while APG Shimla University Registrar Balram Jha, Academic Dean Prof. Dr. Anil Kumar Paul, Controller of Examinations Dr. Afzal Khan, University’s Chief Advisor Engineer Suman Vikrant, Prof. Neil Singh and chairpersons of various departments APG varsity were present in this webseminar. The moderator of the webseminar was Dr. Prachi Vaid from school of sciences of APG varsity. APG Shimla University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ramesh Chauhan congratulated the students, teachers and keynote speakers on National Science Day. “The great scientist of India, C.V. Raman’s contribution in the field of science cannot be forgotten and the present posterities, people and students should work on new scientific researches in the development of the nation and society by adopting scientific attitude like CV Raman”, said VC Prof. Ramesh Chauhan while addressing the participants. Vice-Chancellor Chauhan said that the main objective of National Science Day is to increase the interest and awareness among the people towards science in the country. Along with making science and technology more fruitful for mankind, its important objective is to achieve new heights by giving opportunities to the citizens of the country in this field, said Chauhan. While discussing the topic of Raman Effect in science, VC Chauhan said that the students should be taught about C.V. Raman. One should work hard like C.V. Raman and develop their scientific outlook on innovations for the development of human life in the field of science. Vice-Chancellor Chauhan said that there is a need to work in the direction of increasing awareness on the subject of science among rural boys and girls and new generation so that they can make good use of science and technology in future. Keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Shyam Sharan, while addressing the students and teachers in the webseminar, said that today new dimensions are being established in all fields by developing new technologies due to science. Prof. Shyam Sharan threw light on the topics of human resources and human life of science by showing his lectures and documentary films on various aspects of science to the students and teachers on the topic Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for Sustainable Future and various perspectives of science. Prof. Shyam Sharan told that without science nothing is possible in the world. He said that due to science, new technologies have come and development is being encouraged in every field in the country. In this webseminar, professors and research scholars from colleges of APG Shimla University, Himachal Pradesh University, Punjabi University, Uttarakhand and Haryana presented various aspects of science, new techniques and their new scientific researches. Dr. Dheeraj Ahuja on behalf of the Department of Chemical, Government Polytechnic and Educational Society, Tilak Raj Rana from the Department of Chemistry and School of Science, APG Shimla University made the best oral presentation on various aspects of science and science based approach in human life. On the other hand, Atul Dubey, a research scholar of Chemistry and School of Sciences, APG Shimla University and Mridav, who is pursuing B.Sc in Forensic Science in School of Sciences, presented a better poster on science subjects and techniques. In the second session of the webseminar, the student participants got information from science related subject experts and connected science with technology so that human resources and life could be lived in the right direction. At the same time, the students got information related to how to develop a scientific approach from various speakers. Dean of Sciences Prof. Dr. Rohini Dhadela proposed vote of thanks and thanked all the participants, speakers, professors, guests, Vice Chancellor Prof. Ramesh Chauhan, Prof. Shyam Sharan and thanked all other participants of the webseminar from other universities and colleges.
