Weather conditions are set to change in Himachal Pradesh due to the activation of a western disturbance. Several parts of the state are likely to witness rain and snowfall over the next four days.
Meanwhile, clear skies and continuous sunshine have led to a noticeable rise in temperatures across the state. Maximum temperatures have increased by 2–4°C at many stations in the past 24 hours and remained 3–11°C above normal at most places. The sudden spike in mercury has also widened the gap between day and night temperatures.

Over the next two to three days, both minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to gradually rise by 2–3°C in many parts of the state. However, after this phase, temperatures may fall by 2–8°C across several regions, except for higher mountains and adjoining mid-hill areas.
According to the India Meteorological Department’s Meteorological Centre in Shimla, light rain and snowfall are likely at isolated places in higher reaches from March 7 to 9. On March 10, light rain and snowfall may occur at some places in mid and higher hill districts as well as in lower hill and plain areas.
