The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department will open its procurement portal for wheat purchase from Monday, with the registration process for farmers set to begin the same day. Wheat procurement at designated centres across the state will commence from April 8 and continue till June 15.
The department has initiated preparations for the procurement season. Farmers will be required to visit the department’s portal, fill in details of their crop and complete registration to sell their wheat produce. After online registration, farmers will be issued a token number and date for bringing their crop to the procurement centre. Only one registration will be allowed per mobile number.
The state government has increased the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for wheat by ₹160. The MSP for this season has been fixed at ₹2,585 per quintal.
Procurement will be carried out at 11 centres, including Dhaulakuan; APMC Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur district; APMC Rampur; Market Yard Takrala in Una district; Market Yard Nalagarh; Malpur Baddi in Solan district; Anaj Mandi Fatehpur; Milwan (Indora); Riali; Nagrota Bagwan; and Sabzi Mandi Baijnath in Kangra district.
Director of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Ram Kumar Gautam said the portal for farmers’ registration will open on Monday and procurement will continue from April 8 to June 15.
