A wildlife week with theme “Himachal Care for Nature”began with an opening photography exhibition here at Gaiety Theater.
On this ocassion, Pr. Chief Conservator of Forest, Wildlife cum wildlife warden welcomed and presented momento to Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj.
The wildlife week will be celebrated from October 2to October 8, 2022. In this week various activities including street play, poster making, orginal song composing, photography and logo making competition will be done.
Speaking on this ceremony,Suresh Bhardwaj said it was duty of each one of us to conserve wildlife in state and the country. The deforestation of forest was stopped after the year 1997 and this is the main reason why wild animals are becoming extinct.
He also said that since time immemorial and even in Indian Mythology wildlife was given utmost important and birds animals and even snakes were worship in our society. He appreciated the wildlife wing of the forest department for successful conserving plants and animals including snowleopard.
He congratulated the winners of various competition held by wildlife wing on the occasion and appreciated the message given by the department regarding the wildlife conservation.
PCCF Wildlife Rajiv Kumar said that wildlife week celebration was planned for general awaking of the people in the country towards the protection and conservation of wildlife.
On this ocassion, Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj,HoFF Ajay Srivastava,PCCF Wildlife Rajiv Kumar, Chief Conservator of Forest K. Thirumal,DFO Wildlife Anita Bhardwaj wildlife Anita Bhardwaj and other dignitaries including officials of department were present.
