Rajeev Kumar, Principal Chief Conservator and Chief of Forest Force inaugurated 72nd Wildlife Week 2023 on the theme Wildlife and We at Shimla Water Catchment.
On the inaugural, Anil Thakur Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Wildlife Division, welcomed the chief guest of the program, students and teachers. He said that Wildlife Week is being celebrated in the state from October 2 to October 8, in which essay writing, quiz competition, painting competition, slogan writing, photography competition and other programs are being organized.
On this occasion,a group song and short drama based on the theme of Wildlife Week 2023 was presented by the Riser group.
Chief guest Rajeev Kumar told that we should come together for the conservation of wild animals and forests, and should also make other people aware about the conservation of wild animals. The main objective of Wildlife Week is to educate every person about wild animals through all of you. To create awareness and motivate towards the conservation of animals, through such programs you should become aware not just for one day but year after year and remain committed towards the conservation of wild animals.
At the end of the program, Chief Guest Rajiv Kumar flagged off the cycle rally and bird trainee students.
In the program, Pushpendra Rana Chief Forester, N. Ravi Shankar, Deputy Forester, Wildlife Division Shimla, Mr. Ganpat Verma, Forest Range Officer, Hukam Thakur Forest Range Officer, and officers and employees of the department were present.
