A woman from Banjar ended her life by jumping into Beas river in tourist city Manali. The woman jumped into Beas river in Manali on Saturday.
Police recovered the body of the woman from near Patlikuhal on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Bhuvaneshwari alias Reena village Godighard sub division Banjar district Kullu. Reena was living in a rented house in Aleu area of Manali these days. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the police and fire department team started the search operation. No trace of the woman could be found on Saturday.
On Sunday, police recovered the body near Patlikuhal. DSP Manali KD Sharma said that the body of the woman has been recovered from the river near Patlikuhal. The body has been brought to Manali for postmortem. The family members of the woman have reached Manali. The body will be handed over to the family after the postmortem. He said that the reason for the suicide could not be ascertained. The police is investigating the matter deeply and is also taking information from the family members.
