Courtesy of Ekta Mahila Gram Sangathan, a rally against gender-based violence was organized in Peeran under the leadership of Gram Panchayat head Peeran Kiran Sharma and Keonthal cluster head Geeta Thakur. In which women from various support groups participated. Let us tell you that under the aegis of the Government of India, this national campaign has been started across the country from 25th November and will end on 23rd December. Cluster Head Geeta Thakur said that the objective of this national campaign is to remove structural barriers for women to lead a dignified life without any fear and discrimination. Bimala Verma, head of Ekta Mahila Gram Sangathan, said that through the rally people were made aware about feticide and domestic violence. He said that in the present context, many couples, in their desire to have a son, commit feticide, which is a legal crime. People should avoid this heinous crime and should not create differences between sons and daughters. He said that many women are becoming victims of domestic violence, which is extremely important to stop. The women unitedly said that they will not tolerate even the slightest crime and social evils like feticide and domestic violence.
Ekta Mahila Gram Sangathan advisor Kanta Sharma, Vice President Anita Mehta, Secretary Vidya Devi, Treasurer Asha Sharma and women of many self-help groups ensured their participation in the rally.
