In the absence of roads, electric poles are being transported by pulling them with ropes
Mandi, August 4. Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board is continuously working under difficult circumstances to restore power supply in the disaster affected areas. In village Bharad under Gram Panchayat Pakhrer of Seraj area, electric poles are being pulled by ropes as there is no road or footpath left to the village.
The distance from Daisy to Bharad is about three kilometers, but due to lack of roads, the poles are being dragged through ravines and extremely difficult and inaccessible routes. Under this work, eight electric poles will be transported to the destination in the same way with the help of ropes. In this effort to restore electricity, employees and workers have to cover a dangerous journey of 3 kilometers on foot.
Junior Engineer Thunag Jagdish Chand, under whose supervision this work is going on, said that it is very difficult to reach Bharad, but with the efforts of the team, one pole at a time is being taken there. He said that about 60 families live in this village, to whom efforts are being made to restore electricity supply as soon as possible. He said that if the weather cooperates, then electricity supply will be restored in the next three to four days. 25 electricity employees and laborers are working day and night for this work.
