Intellectual Property Cell (IPR) at Shoolini University organised one-day workshop on Patents and prior art search in collaboration with the HIMCOSTE and the Indian Patent Office, Government of India.
Prof. Anoop Swaroop from Australia inaugurated the workshop through virtual mode. Shoolini University Chancellor Prof PK Khosla started the workshop by lighting the lamp along with two members of the Indian Patent Office, Government of India (GOI) and two professionals from XLSCOUT Company.
The Director of IPR Cell, Shoolini University, Prof. Kamal Dev shared information about the various schemes and measures which the cell uses for patents and research.
Prof. P.K. Khosla spoke about his dreams and expectations in the area of research. He believes that “One Student, One Patent” is what we are thriving towards and what we will achieve in the coming years.
Prof Khosla also thanked Mr. Anoop Swarup for taking the time for the workshop. He talked about the basics of Patents and their importance in today’s world where entrepreneurs and unicorns are taking over the world.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof Atul Khosla inspired all the participants and faculty members with his words of wisdom and stories. He encouraged faculty and students to file a patent and protect your ideas, protecting your ideas should be the first and the foremost step. He congratulated the IPR Cell and the team for achieving the milestone of filing 1000+ patents.
Ms. Nitya Tyagi, an examiner at IP Office, India, shared valuable information with the participants about prior art searches. She introduced various free software and websites which could be used to do a basic prior art search on the invention. Ms. Chhavi Garg from IP office delivered her lecture on prior and art search and also explained step-by-step protocol on how to go about the search and its necessity.
Mr. Pranav Sharma from XLSCOUT briefed us on XL-PAT, the company’s software that is going to make Prior Art Search easier than ever before. The software is easy to use and will change the future of patent filing. Henceforth, knowing if your invention or idea is of any worth will be a click away with XL-PAT.
On the occasion, top patent filers of Shoolini University were felicitated with a certificate and a memento by the Chancellor. Certificates were also awarded to the top patent filers from each department of Shoolini University
