World Bank team led by Task Team Leader Bekzod Shamsiev met Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi here today regarding the Horticulture Development Project.
The Horticulture Minister said that the state government is paying special attention to horticulture, especially apple production. He asked the World Bank team to provide details of the desired land and other necessary information for this project. He assured to provide all possible help for the success of this project.
Jagat Singh Negi welcomed the World Bank team on this occasion and honoured them as per Himachali traditions.
During the meeting, the World Bank team said that their experience of working in India, especially in Himachal Pradesh, has always been fruitful and productive. They detailed about the project in length to the Horticulture Minister.
Appreciating the state government, Horticulture Department and Himachal Pradesh Horticulture Produce Marketing and Processing Corporation (HPMC), the World Bank representatives said that exemplary work was being done in the state to benefit the horticulturalists and the agriculturists. Various other issues of farming sector, crop insurance etc were also discussed.
A 15-member World Bank team is on visit to the State for development of Horticulture in the state.
Managing Director HPMC Sudesh Mokhta thanked the World Bank Team for their enthusiasm towards development of horticulture in the state.
World Bank team members Dr. Arvind Jhamb, Gerard Boyle, Dr. Ivana Dulic-Markovic and Dhiren Sheth were also present on this occasion.
