Sunni (Shimla): Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh said that a ₹25 crore water supply project to solve the water crisis in Sunni is being implemented on a war footing and will be completed within one month. The project will improve drinking water facilities for people in the area.
He shared this information after attending the Peepal Sanskar Puja at Sunni in the Shimla Rural Assembly Constituency.
The minister said efforts are also being made to fill vacant posts at Sunni Hospital as soon as possible. He added that he is regularly in touch with the Health and Family Welfare Minister to resolve health-related issues in the area.
Vikramaditya Singh said that in-principle approval has already been received for setting up a Critical Care Unit in Sunni. He said the matter will be taken up with the Union Health Minister to get budget approval and release of funds soon so that construction can begin at the earliest.
He also said several development works are underway in Sunni, including the installation of interlocking tiles, solar lights, and construction of drains in Sunni Bazaar.
Earlier, Vikramaditya Singh, along with his wife Dr Amreen Singh, participated in the Peepal Sanskar Puja at Sunni Chowk. He said the Peepal tree was planted by his father and former Chief Minister late Raja Virbhadra Singh in 2014–15. He described the ceremony as a symbol of culture, environment protection, and respect for ancestors.
After the event, the minister visited a cowshed to feed cows and later listened to public grievances at the Vishram Grih, assuring people of their early resolution.
