Now, there has been a new twist in the Junior Office Assistant (IT) Post Code-939 recruitment process. After the Electricity Board expressed its inability to provide jobs to 148 selected candidates, now these candidates will be accommodated in five other boards and corporations of the state government. The process of filling 295 posts of JOA IT has been going on since the year 2022. Out of 1.18 lakh applicants, 68 thousand participated in the written examination held on 24 April 2022. However, due to the paper leak case coming to light in December 2022, the final result of this recruitment could not be declared for almost two years.
After getting permission from the government to declare the result, an unexpected situation arose when the Electricity Board expressed its inability to fill 148 posts. Whereas candidates have already been appointed to the posts in other departments under the same post code. The recommendation and necessary documents of the selected candidates were submitted to the Electricity Board by the State Selection Commission, but after the Board’s refusal, the matter was placed before the State Government. The state government, taking cognizance of the situation, has taken an important decision to accommodate 148 candidates in other boards and corporations.
These include the Agriculture Marketing Board, the Forest Department’s Corporation, the Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board, the Himachal Pradesh School Education Board, and HPMC. These chosen applicants were given until the first week of April by the State Selection Commission, Hamirpur to submit their preferences (options). The commission has assigned boards and businesses to the qualified applicants after receiving their selections from the candidates. On Tuesday, the personnel department of the state government received the list of this allotment. The state government will now formally suggest candidates for appointments to these boards and businesses. It is anticipated that this development would put an end to the two-year wait for a job for the hopefuls.
The state government gave the commission the responsibility of collecting the candidates’ option list. The list has been forwarded to the government following the receipt of the candidates’ choices and their distribution across boards and businesses, says Himachal Pradesh State Selection Commission Secretary Vikram Mahajan
