District Milk Development Committee meeting held
Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap chaired a meeting of the District Milk Development Committee in his office today. The meeting reviewed the progress of various milk production-related schemes and issued instructions to further strengthen departmental activities to benefit milk producers.
The Deputy Commissioner directed officials to ensure timely technical and financial assistance is provided to dairy cooperatives to increase milk production at the rural level. He called for concrete steps to be taken to increase farmers’ income by establishing better coordination between departments working in the field of dairy development.
He said that there are 57 panchayats in the district where milk production exceeds 200 liters, and milk cooperatives need to be formed in all of these panchayats. He said that 26 milk cooperatives have already been formed in the district. He directed the district’s Block Development Officers to form these societies so that local people can benefit from them.
Deputy Director Dr Neeraj Mohan from Animal Husbandry Department and officers from other related departments were present in the meeting.
